December 24th – 12 Days of Comfort and Joy
Day 5 – Bringing comfort and joy to Wounded Warriors
PawPADs prioritizes our veterans with placement and does not charge them a placement fee. We’re able to do this because of the financial support of folks just like you!
Remember, during the “12 Days Of Comfort and Joy” (Dec 20-31, 2016) all donations IN ANY AMOUNT will be matched by the Giant Steps Foundation AND be tax deductible! If you’re inspired, please make a donation today!
In addition to the physical assistance a service dog offers it’s veteran partner, the partners also often experience dramatic relief from many symptoms of PTSD due to the bonding and close work the partnership requires.
One Veteran has made “gigantic strides forward” in the words of her mother. She’s using her wheelchair less, is getting out in public much more, and is starting back to college. Her service dog, Loki, is credited with for much of the improvement and enthusiasm.
“I am a disabled veteran and PawPADs went out of their way to find the right dog for me that would help. I have only had him a few weeks, but already he has helped me so much with so many little things that are so hard to do on my own. He has made my life so much easier. PawPADs also offers support whenever we need it.”
“[Without our service dog]…my husband wouldn’t have the independence he has today. Neither would I. He adds a level of safety and security to our lives that I am immensely grateful for. He is my husband’s safety net and my peace of mind. I cannot imagine our family without him or where we would be if he didn’t come into our lives. Thanks to PawPADs…I get to spend more time being a wife instead of being a caregiver. There are no sufficient words to thank PawPADs for giving back to us some of what war took.”
